I'm in a bit of a slump. I've had some time to work on things, but my sleep schedule's so out of whack that it hasn't really happened :/ I guess I have the weekend, though -- my brother's going out of town, so I'll have the place to myself for a few days. In the meantime, here are some things:
The first three were drawn by this person, who is fantastic.
Speaking of TF2, this is my new wall spray:
WCZP is getting really crazy and fun, by the way, and I love it:
JESUS KATE WTF
This one I drew awhile back, because...well, I'd watch it:
And a truefactoid brought to you by being hungover:
Well I guess this is post #100, so I'm going to start with some pretty, pretty things:
This is in British Columbia. My current dream is to someday work-at-or-own a bookstore up there, and spend my days off wandering around fucking elven forests.
"Emergency workers report that the damage from Valentine's day is worse than previously projected. They describe bodies, strewn upon the ground, covered in glitter and paper cupids. Entire buildings collapsed, leaving only rubble and chalky candy hearts."
I stumbled across a manga recommendation thread on SA (via a Retsutalk episode) and found some good stuff...I'm still reading through a few of them, but man...Goons definitely know what they're about -- masters of all things, etc. THANKS, THE GOONS!
In Qualia the Purple, Marii thinks people look like robots. Hey, that's swell -- but are you guys ready...FOR FRIENDSHIP
Baaaaaw.
Friendship (and borderline yuri), philosophy, and quantum physics... what more could a gal ask for?!
YEEEEAH REPRESENT
...aaaand this is one from Curvy I've been meaning to put up.
So! Some good finds there; apparently my to-read queue ISN'T BIG ENOUGH.
...It's nice to have the distraction, though; I got a mean case of the feels this past week, for which I (mostly) blame winter. It was so snowy here they ended up cutting a bunch of shifts at work... which at least meant I didn't have to bike in the snow, so that's a plus... and I have some good default things on the internet now for when I'm feeling down and need some cheering up. :3 They are the best things.
...so I guess screw you, future self? To be fair: you should probably have seen this coming based on our shared past experience of screwing over future selves.
I ended up having some adventures last night, but I'll have to post about them some other time -- for now it's dinner time, and then veeedeeeeooo gaaames!
Hello hello!
It's been a little while -- I was sick this week, so I didn't do a whole lot...but today I got pumped (as the kids say) and got a whole bunch of stuff done. I think sleep deprivation helped somehow, because sleep...didn't really happen last night.
I've been drawing some more stuff here and there for Retsupurae, and for Supergreatfriend's delightful Saturday Stram crowd -- the latter in conjunction with the wonderfully talented Arlowa, who takes my crude lineart and works fantastic wizardry upon it. BEHOOOOLD!
This one I colored, and I think it turned out funny, if decidedly less magical:
I also re-did an old dinosaur comic, because the apatosaurus looked dumb in the first version :/
So, there you have...all those things!
In more boring news, I'm getting my healthcare crap lined out, and applying for a second job as a grocery checker... it's really close to my first job, and if I can get an employee discount on groceries AND books, then I think I'll be pretty set. Cross your fingers for me, because one retail job just isn't cutting it, frankly, and I dream of someday becoming a real grown-up who doesn't have to worry about rent from month to month. (HA-HAAAaaaa)
Did you know there is a show about Wizard Lawyers? Because I am not even kidding.
These two books from the Library! are really good so far. I need to add them to my wishlist, but it's too vast and incomprehensible, by which I mean it is a box stuffed full of ISBNs on scraps of paper. That is how the book addict do.
Week was long and somewhat baffling. I learned that walking to work takes longer than expected and trashes my back and feet -- but the snow melted today, so I can bike again! This is nice.
I've been in a comfy haze of books since my library trip. I got The Maxx, and it's great so far... and a graphic biography of Hunter S. Thompson (which was also good, but made me want a more substantial bio of him as well). Right now I'm on a book about the theft of a moon rock, which is kinda fluffy so far -- but I've been liking it. Maybe I needed some fluff. Bleeeeuuuaaaarrrr, this week.
I invented a game called "fill boxes with random doodles" -- you can probably guess how it's played.
As much as I'd like to end the post on that hamster-with-a-knife note, here are a few more things I keep forgetting to stick up here:
Today I visited the library(!) branch by my house and scored some goodies. I feel stagnant, and want to punch winter in the face -- maybe it's time to get my paints out and challenge that shit with brushes.
Despite a few rough bits, this (see below) was really good -- and this is coming from someone who's rather burnt out on zombie fiction.
