MADOKAAAAAAAAAA

I'm supposed to be packing to move this week, but in true procrastinating-responsibility-in-favor-of-awesome-things form I pulled an all-nighter drawing bears and powering through Puella Magi Madoka Magica WHICH WAS AMAZING. Oh my god, that scene with Madoka's mom. Oh my god. I puzzled out some of the grief seed/witch connections somewhat early on, but I didn't expect such a deft hand with the time travel, nor did I expect the ending to go so far. Well played, Madoka Magica; well played.

(A sidenote here: I don't mind supporting through ads or whatever, but: Crunchyroll, do you have to show me the same goddamn target commercial three hundred times? Consecutively? It's like you're trying to infuriate me into subscribing.)

Afterwards I found out it's done by the same gent who did Song of Saya (which G & I are currently playing together) and Psycho-Pass, which by coincidence I had just added to my to-watch list. If you know anything about Song of Saya, I think you know this guy likes twists -- so let me tell you straight up what ABC has apparently (and potentially hilariously!) misconstrued: this is very not a show for children. I bet you survey the quality assortment of images below* & think to yourself "Well golly, this looks like a Magical Girl show." Well, you're kind of right -- but at the same time: oh, my friend, you are so wrong.

*(Okay, mostly Kyubey; creepy-ass motherfucker that it is)

Do not let this fool you

Oh hey there, I'm Kyubey
Just comin' fer yer soul

And now to pack -- and maybe later, if things get crazy,  sleep!
Ha! Hahaha, no. No, probably not.
