If we're still alive, my regrets are few // Do Androids Dream of Electric Metric

"Here there existed no one to record his or anyone else's degradation, and any courage or pride which might manifest itself here at the end would go unmarked: the dead stones, the dust-stricken weeds dry and dying, perceived nothing, recollected nothing, about him or themselves."

Damn, son; why didn't I pick up Philip K. Dick earlier? Although I do wish my copy of Do Androids Dream had this brilliant sticker:

...but seriously, I peeked at the first few pages in the store and suspected this would be the start of something lovely -- I'm excited to see what else PKD has up his sleeve. Also, I totally need to re-watch Blade Runner now because oh hey look an excuse to watch Blade Runner.

Did they tell you
"you should grow up,"
when you wanted to dream?
Did they warn you:
"better shape up if you want to succeed"?
I don't know about you --
who are they talking to?
They're not talking to me.

I'm alright-- come on, baby;
I've seen all the demons that you've got.
If you're not alright now -- come on, baby.
I'll pick you up and take
take you where you want.
Anywhere you want.
