MAN I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT THIS HAGANAI BUSINESS, BUT SOME CRAZY, FOXY MEGANEKO JUST TOTALLY EROTICIZED A ROBOT MANGA ALOUD AND WHAT IS HAPPENING
This is hilarious; as your doctor I recommend that you get on this shit.
.
I haven't seen all of them yet, but it looks like things stay crazy and I am okay with this
Fffffff it is late and I work tomorrow. TO THE BEDMOBILE
New room is coming along! Just a few odds & ends to tidy up; I have not yet cocooned the place with images like a madwoman yet (as I usually do), & don't yet know if I'll go that rout or if I'll use my collage materials in other ways. WE SHALL SEE.
I got all jittery and dumped a cart of books in front of my store manager today, and then ran it into the wall as I was leaving. Truly I am, like ze gazelle, a stunning depiction of grace in motion.
Bounding elegantly through her native habitat.
So, that was a fun day. I think I'm going to jump on that (small) writing project tonight/this weekend. Now videos!
I'm supposed to be packing to move this week, but in true procrastinating-responsibility-in-favor-of-awesome-things form I pulled an all-nighter drawing bears and powering through Puella Magi Madoka Magica WHICH WAS AMAZING. Oh my god, that scene with Madoka's mom. Oh my god. I puzzled out some of the grief seed/witch connections somewhat early on, but I didn't expect such a deft hand with the time travel, nor did I expect the ending to go so far. Well played, Madoka Magica; well played.
(A sidenote here: I don't mind supporting through ads or whatever, but: Crunchyroll, do you have to show me the same goddamn target commercial three hundred times? Consecutively? It's like you're trying to infuriate me into subscribing.)
Afterwards I found out it's done by the same gent who did Song of Saya (which G & I are currently playing together) and Psycho-Pass, which by coincidence I had just added to my to-watch list. If you know anything about Song of Saya, I think you know this guy likes twists -- so let me tell you straight up what ABC has apparently (and potentially hilariously!) misconstrued: this is very not a show for children. I bet you survey the quality assortment of images below* & think to yourself "Well golly, this looks like a Magical Girl show." Well, you're kind of right -- but at the same time: oh, my friend, you are so wrong.
*(Okay, mostly Kyubey; creepy-ass motherfucker that it is)
Do not let this fool you
HOMURAAA; MY VERY BEST FRIEND
Oh hey there, I'm Kyubey
Just comin' fer yer soul
...with my creepy fucking dead eyes.
And now to pack -- and maybe later, if things get crazy, sleep!
Ha! Hahaha, no. No, probably not.
ALL ABOARD THE COFFEE TRAIN WOO WOO
Well hello there, The Internet*! It looks like you're getting a second post in under a week! Clearly someone is finally getting her ass in gear for 2013.**
I snagged The Secret World while it was on sale & have been enjoying it so far, but I need to get my gent hooked as well -- really, what good is a world where you can be a katana-wielding Illuminati blood-o-mancer waging war upon the unholy spawn of eldritch Lovecraftian horrors without someone to share it with? I'm sure this is one of those essential questions every human must, at some point, ask themselves.
I spent a lot of time making and deleting a slew of characters (you only get three slots), but I ended up with two thus far: an Illuminati blood-magic user I still haven't played much, and a tiny Dragon chick with a blue pixie cut and a hammer, named Smashy, who is incredibly gratifying to play. I'll try to get some pictures, wot wot.
In other news, I'm still not done with Bakemonogatari yet -- but I'm really, really enjoying it. Harking back to my earlier post about paper-writing: I really want to deconstruct it, because (not to spoil too much) I feel like it really tackles a lot of psychological questions in a metaphorical sense by framing them as paranormal encounters. Maybe I'll take notes the next time around, when I force my gentlemananyone I can to watch it -- I would take that show apart with a spoon, because it is fucking delicious. I tried to find the ending theme to the episode I was watching tonight, but youtube could not deliver -- it's too bad, because the animation for it is amazing and also it made me want to cry like a little girl.
Would you like some mspaint doodles? Because I just happen to have some right here. Oh! Also I'm going to post the art piece I did for solstice (as promised), but the file is massive & I need to figure out how to get around size limitations, sooooo... not today, but... eventually?
Also, here are some videos:
My bed is full of (2) cats! They know we're tooootal suckers when it's cold out, so they play it up and cry pitifully outside the door and/or turn into cuddly little purr motors so they can weasel their way in to our deliciously heated domicile. I know it's a shameless ruse for warmth -- they never pull this mega-snuggle-cuteness crap in the summer -- but ohgawdtheyaresocute. Okay, time to go pet cats now.
L'horreur “Life is a hideous thing, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous. Science, already oppressive with its shocking revelations, will perhaps be the ultimate exterminator of our human species — if separate species we be — for its reserve of unguessed horrors could never be borne by mortal brains if loosed upon the world.”
It's been awhile, I know. A new year has happened since I posted last! Hooray for humankind's arbitrary measurement of the passage of time!
I made a thread on /lit/ & it did pretty good >.> It is based on this, of course.
Yeah, it's too big so you're gonna hafta click, yo.
Someone requested the Buff Baby song, & someone else requested I Remember You, so I did both of those as well; I might re-post them to /co/, but I don't know that board as well, & am not sure what their current feelings are regarding Le Adventure Times.
I made everyone some photoshop arts for the holidays, but I mucked it up & didn't notice it until after it was printed... G assures me that I am the only one who noticed, but I'm not posting it on here until I fix it & make it a more manageable size -- because the file itself is kinda huge. I also drew a walrus in a Santa hat, so there's that.
Overall the past few weeks have been kind of turbulent. I'm really glad the holidays are over, because a lot of it was just the usual holiday bucket-o'-stress, but not all of it. Part of it was that we had initially planned to get married on the 21st, and that date just rolled on past and no one said anything. I knew it wasn't going to happen -- nothing got planned because I'm sure as hell not taking all that on by myself -- but I was kind of hoping at least one side of the families involved would say something. Or anything, for that matter. I gave G his (great grandmother's) ring back, but we are still pretty firmly in Itemhood. I hope we can try again later, & maybe it will work out better. In the meantime, we need some more space to ourselves. I may be moving in with my brother, but that plan's still getting bounced around a little. I am curious to see what developments this year throws at us.
In other news, I'm watching two new anime: Toradora (I'm on episode 7) and Bakemonogatari (episode 9). Who is best tsundere? Senjōgahara is best tsundere. This is all you need to know.
This is a really geeky impulse, but: some of the anime I've been watching make me wish I had access to a more academic setting because, even aside from discussions of Japanese culture & how it presents in anime, there is just so much to deconstruct on a plot/character level. Who has two thumbs and is a nerd?
It is quite late & I have little to say. We watched Moonrise Kingdom & it was poignant & lovely. Halloween was quiet. I'm on an anime kick again. I wrote a journal entry about family, and mutual disappointment. I am very
very
sleep-deprived.
I saw this on youtube a while back & it made me smile.
(Old Man, take a look at my life; I'm a lot like you --
I need someone to love me the whole day through.)
Good feels
Also maybe you would like about a comic about dinosaurs?
A couple of people have told me that my comics are kind of obscure. I guess I'm just odd.
More posts/hopefully-better-comics incoming (I promise).
